OXFORD FLEA MARKET DAYS
If you want to shop for new cheap stuff, stop by the open-air market at Gloucester Green on Wednesdays; Thursdays is for old cheap stuff. Both days feature interesting homemade food, fresh produce and meat and cheese direct from the farm. Yesterday, I sampled a pork sandwich with applesauce and stuffing direct from a suckling pic on a spit. After that, it was a fresh doughnut with lemon icing and crushed pistachios. Curious combination of tastes for sure!
We shopped for treasures, but found it impractical to consider taking home an original painting in a frame, or a curio cabinet or antique china. Appreciating the treasures and people-watching seems to be the best way to go!
